How does a city girl like me end up writing five books about the country? I learned about the country taking my kids to a bungalow colony in Sullivan County for years. I fell in love with the place, the town and the county. As a writer I appreciate the total peace and quiet that never occurs in Manhattan.

Country came to me as Mac and Callie, characters from my first book, did. I created a town and a university and had so much fun doing it I kept the next books there. After book three, I maneuvered my first main character there because I was in love with the town and why waste a great location? Why invent something new when this town was dripping with charm?

I started my sequel to "Sunny Days, Moonlit Nights", which will be titled, "April in the Moonlight" and happen in the same small town as the first book. But not the same small town as the other five! I know it's confusing, I'm confusing myself! I have 84 pages of another book that takes place...finally...in New York City! But that will have to wait until I finish sequel number one...then sequel number two. I'm busy, but at least I'm not bored.  Hope you all are having a great day. Hugs and kisses to everyone.

Sale over!

Sorry to say the amazon.com sale is over. But you can still buy it there for $3.99, not exactly a budget-breaking price...I hope!

Sexy, romantic stuff

What are the sexiest songs you know? The most romantic? I found a new song, "Summer Rain" by Michael Morrison from Glee that absolutely blows me away. I have to use it in a book, maybe several books!

Michael Buble and Michael Morrison have very sexy versions of "Sway" out there. Using it in my NYC love story, "To Love or Not to Love." I dance to it in the kitchen when I'm feeding the dog. Tell me your favorite romantic/sexy songs!

Came up with a character name, Rook Devlin that made me laugh at first. Then friends said they loved it. So he crept into my mind. On the train ride home from Boston yesterday I outlined a story for Rook. Gave him a great love he only sees, mysteriously, on vacation. Don't want to give away the story. But it will be a fun romance to write.

Monday

When you work every day yo don't have the down of a Monday or the relief of a Friday. I write every day, not just because I think I should but because I want to. No matter what's going wrong with the world, when I'm writing, I'm in my little world and nothing there goes wrong I can't fix eventually. Nothing goes wrong there that won't end happily. It's often a relief from the disasters of the real world, tsunamis, nuclear problems, friends who aren't friends, unhelpful criticism and worries about kids.

So come with me into my world of make-believe, happy endings, boy loves girl, girl loves boy...both eventually and make your Monday a happy day. Hope your day has been better than it started.

Six Sentence Sunday for "Sunny Days, Moonlit Nights"

“You’re running away, Miss?” Harry, the butler, asked her.
“Yes, I am. I’ve had enough. Thank you for all your kindness
over the past five years. You helped to make unbearable times
better,” she said, warmly, shaking his hand.
Harry, a non-descript, plump, fifty-year-old man blushed,
putting color in his sallow cheeks.
“Don’t know what’s wrong with Mr. White. When he has you
here, why would he…? Well, it’s not for me to understand, I guess.
But I wouldn’t be doin’ that if I were him.”
