Six Sentence Sunday, a taste of "Now and Forever 1, a Love Story"

Mac hadn’t dated much since his divorce because he focused his attention on his career first and women second. Caught unawares, his desire was released by the kiss of this beautiful, lonely creature. Sweat broke out on his forehead and his hand trembled slightly when he touched Callie's face. She rested a hand on his chest.  His feelings went beyond those for any other woman, beyond sexual desire alone. He was losing control of his heart.

I think it's interesting he views her as 'lonely', yet the description of him concentrating on career first, women second makes him (in my mind) even lonelier... yet he doesn't seem to view himself that way.

Jean Joachim Books said...

You are right, 1,000th monkey. He is lonely. Sometimes I think he realizes it, especially on Sunday nights. Other times he keeps occupied so it isn't as obvious. Their mutual loneliness brings them together. They are so meant for each other that coming together kills their loneliness and brings happiness.
